The main areas of focus, in this Chicago home, were the fireplace, the main level wood floors, exterior and interior paint, and updated fabrics & furnishings to work with and complement the current furniture and artwork.
Design Solution
We removed the yellow/gold on the floors by going darker with the new stain color. The new fireplace design created a much more symmetrical look to the room and gave the family built in shelving and a new dry bar area. Exterior and interior paint went much lighter and brighter. This family is not afraid of color and we were able to liven things up with fun fabrics that we reupholstered some of the old furnishings in. Custom drapes, rugs, new furnishings & fixtures were added to create this modern, bright, elegant interior. For images of before the remodel see the Before/After Gallery
